yeah, i was really surprised to get word of it (and grateful that somebody thought to e-mail me, since i'm crap at keeping in touch, but a guy from the echo thought to e-mail me - very sweet of him) because it's so very tragic.
i wasn't close with her, but talked to her plenty at the office, and she was always just a very bright person, smiling a lot. it's so strange to read about it from this far away - i even saw a video on wral.com and the former echo editor (who came after i left, but whom i met when i visited you a few years back) was in the clip. and the articles are all quoting people i know, including dear dr evans who was my academic advisor.
poor denita. she left a great impression with many, so it must be quite sad at central because she knew a lot of people. :(
