it's mom's last day of work today. she's finally getting to RETIRE! wee! she's worked at the same hardware-store for something like 40 years. it's about time. go mom!
have placed order for some flowers to be delivered to her job - hopefully the store will deliver them per my request (before mom leaves for the day)... we'll see. these are the flowers i picked:
last night, we also remembered to make the downpayment on our summerhouse. yeyyy!
you know, it's kind of crazy the things you can do thanks to the internet (cue the "Jennie is Incredibly Unoriginal and Grandmalike and very 1997"-music).. marp found one job opening announcement online, applied through e-mail and 3 interviews later he was hired. i had one stray thought one night that it'd be nice to have a summer house, got up and did a websearch, liked the first hit that came up and a month later, we've signed stuff and made a downpayment and will be handed the keys in a few weeks.
life is swirly.
we're also on summer holiday up north. it's incredibly lazy and slow, as it should. we eat freshpicked berries from the garden for breakfast every day, play boardgames, barbecue things (tomorrow i am throwing bamboo-spears w/strawberries & marshmallows on the grill just to try, heh heh) and attempt to make miniscule daytrips.
today we're going to a thai temple - apparently a king of thailand once travelled these parts back in 1897 and 100 years later, the swedes in cooperation with the thai royal family built a gorgeous pavillion here in northern sweden. fun fun!
and tomorrow we're going to a music festival. i get to see lady gaga, wee! (i just like her, more for her clothes and random accoustic appearances than anything else. want to photograph.)
life is good. am grateful.
