so, woke up, my voice sounds like a creaky door. staying home, day three. arrrrghhhhh. (this is how hardwired i am not to stay home sick: i first had to call my mom so i could get an opinion on my phonevoice to deduce if i really could try and make work happen or not. me: "hey" mom: "oooh, you still have a cold! geez. now you stay home and take care okay?" me: "ok." hahaha)
now i have to skim-read everything gossipy online until i can download and watch last night's american idol and america's next top model. outside of lost, i'm really out of things to entertain me so i might try out gabi's playstation 2 later. i will stay clear of the silent hill collection though since i know from experience it scares me half to death. i now have testimonial from gabi that it scares the shit out of her too.
this is us at the game-store:
gabi: which should i get, resident evil 4 or the latest silent hill?
me: resident evil! not silent hill, silent hill is scary as hell and not in the good way!
clerk: yeah... the last resident evil is better than the last silent hill, i thought.
gabi: ...but which is more, i don't know, psycho-fun?
me: not silent hill, you MAY NOT bring silent hill into the house, remember how scared i am of the ring? silent hill is the game equivalent of that! dooooon't!
clerk: um... well silent hill 2 is actually...
gabi: do you have that?
me: good! but even if you did, you may not sell it to her!
clerk: oh wait... oh shit, i'm really sorry but... (goes and finds the silent hill collection that includes silent hill 2)
me: you ARE EVIL!! NOOOOOO!
clerk: i'm sorry. for what it's worth, i still prefer resident evil 4.
gabi: i'll take the silent hill collection!
etc. because if there's one thing i know, it's that any time i object to something, it becomes super-hot and attractive to gabi. this means she ends up watching a lot of movies she hates because she refuses to believe me when i say she's gonna hate it, haha.
so yesterday she's all "i played silent hill" and i go "ugga bugga boo! fucked up scary game, isn't it?" ...she got quiet and then... "YEAH. i only managed to play half an hour before i was so tense i thought i would crack into pieces. i'm returning that game asap."
and yes. i responded to that with a big "I TOLD YOU SO!!" ....because i love to gloat about being right. hehe.
okay. oatmeal. mmmm.
