so, we got to go home a couple of hours early. i went downtown to stare at things with cassandra for a while. there's something really evil about getting your paycheck and finding yourself in a huge store with things like.. uh... dvds.

i have NO idea how it happened, but i apparently had a momentary brain fart and bought north & south (book I & II)... wtf is wrong with me? spending almost _$80_ on dvds? however... that's like 18 hrs of entertainment, including bitchy ashton and over-the-top kirstey alley as virgilia, and even though it's something like 16-17 years since i saw it (!), i seem to recall many actors being cute and hello, young patrick swayze... hehe. (shut uuuup. you can't walk away clean after having spent so much time as a kid totally obsessed with dirty dancing, okay?)

why is it i was too cheap to spend $40 on 5 books, and i wouldn't buy a special edition of welcome to the dollhouse for $25 the other day, but $80 on a mini-series i haven't seen since i was 11 years old made TOTAL SENSE?? (i'm not just blowing money for the sake of it, honest, but considering i actually got almost $600 extra this month thanks to different comission payouts from various projects i've worked the past two months, i let myself feel i deserve to be at least somewhat insanely frivolous, i figure. especially since i managed to find those $13 sandals yesterday.)

hehe. 18 hours of lavish clothes and melodramatic love crap and war... yeah, i might just decide to keep this. hee.

yey, tomorrow off! :D

somabish: hehe

i really hope so too! i never really buy box-sets, but this just felt more like a cool thingy to have rather than collecting newer tv-shows that i won't be rewatching anytime soon anyway. i hear the dvd edition isn't so great technically speaking (not great sound nor picture), but i'm not really about that, i just wanna see if it's as engaging as i recall it being..
