finally the new book i ordered from a swedish author i like arrived in the mail. i'd ordered it off her website a few weeks ago and was wondering why it was taking so long until she noted online that she was doing the mailing herself. but yey, it's here, and sweetly signed by the author and i'm pretty sure she adressed the darn envelope herself too, haha. :o

i'm working 1pm-9 pm today, which feels really strange, but it's only supposed to last throughout june and i don't have to leave for itty-bitty town until next wednesday so i suppose all will be fine. (i'm relieved to learn the 22-year-old kid who was way too keen on, er, wooing me, will be gone for the summer so i can relax while up there this time, heh...) a fellow fan of sing will be airmailing me a dvd-r of the movie shortly, so i have that to look forward to. i'm even talking to my roommate again, although we haven't adressed the issue. eh, i kind of stopped caring once i finally caught up on my sleep again, heh.

alphaville's forever young, a-ha's take on me, sandra's maria magdalena, limahl's neverending story, sabrina's boys, boys, boys... i'm suddenly drowning in lovely 80s cheese. hehehe. my mp3-player is currently a highly frightening place. 8)

What kind of book?

it's the first real fiction book of a swedish columnist (linda skugge) i've been reading on a weekly, and since the got a blog last year, daily basis since 1993. :o her latest book mixes a story about a swedish columnist (er..) with tiny kids who's deserted by her husband, but it also brings up parallels with sylvia plath's life.. i'm looking forward to it. it's my first signed book ever, so i'm glad it's from her. :)

I've just started reading a book about Sylvia Plath's life, interestingly. :)

oh, how appropriate! :D yeah, linda skugge has been sylvia obsessed - she doesn't believe sylvia was a very good writer and can't make it through her poetry, but loves to read about sylvia and ted. i'm looking forward to seeing her take on things.

btw - i read about that judge and the "too short" verdict, they've been writing about it in swedish newspapers. today they also published a story about a german man who isn't sent to prison because he has a medical condition that means he has a constant erection. the prison is refusing him to come serve his sentence. hrm...

he has a constant erection

Priapism! Usually hurts. From what I've read. I have no first-hand experience. :)
