ever do that thing where you kinda want a snack but you don't feel like actively getting a snack so you end up eating whatever is closeby and edible, even though it's really not something you even like?
i just ate 8 candied kumquats. dude, i don't even like fresh kumquats (i find them to be a bizarre culmination of all that i avoid in oranges - all skin and pits and weird white stuff and none of the juice). these candied thingies are really strange and sharp tasting, and yet i just totally chewed and winced my way through them.
good day at work, lovely weather outside. i went downtown with cassandra on our lunchbreak to eat supercheap turkish sandwhiches and people-watch. on our way back, we (as always) bought three million little plastic bags of dried things. today's selection consisted of the aforementioned kumquats, purely for curiosity's sake, and some delicious candied ginger dipped in chocolate.
...anybody know of an exotic fruit they think i should try? i really love trying to find new fruits i barely know how to eat inthe produce markets. while i don't like kumquats, nor mango, passion fruit or figs, i like litchis, cape gooseberries, pomegranates, green plums, cherimoya and rambutan. i think i'm gonna try and find some mangostan sometime, and i'm real curious of jackfruit...
