thanks, everyone, for your lovely, lovely birthday wishes! i had a really good day. well, if you don't count the discovery that 8 members out of my 15-member team called in sick. i had ONE person manning the phone alone for half an hour (we were supposed to have -5- people manning the phones) when we opened at 8 am. yes, i pitched in, hahaha.
but despite lots and lots of work stuff, the day was good. i announced my birthday to all sorts of people just for kicks, and thus enjoyed getting "happy birthday!" greetings from bunches of people, including the 7-11 clerk and customers on the phone, hehe. i've talked to my gushing parents, gotten text messages (the furthest came from my aunt who is vacationing in greece!) from other family and friends and gotten lovely messages from you guys = i'm happy and very touched. even my brother called and left a message on my cellphone - shocking! but yeah: thank you. :)
i got a text message from my roommate that there was a "secret" waiting for me at the apartment. i just got home and found a tiny, tiny box with a really pretty lucky charm necklace (4 really, really dark purple beads in dark grey metal setting in a clover-formation) - so sweet! and i spent the evening with a good friend who got me two fabulous potted plants, and who also treated me to seriously yummie indian food, and a movie.
(we saw united 93 on my request. it was very, very good and incredibly sad. i was very impressed and taken with it. yeah, i cried some, heh.)
so. thanks, ya'll. :D :D
tomorrow i hope to attend a feminist event (election day is sunday and i'm curious about one of the smaller wannabe parties called feministic initiative) with lots of celeb-women, including jane fonda and eve ensler - and they'll be doing readings from the vagina monologues.
haha, i'm totally going just to be able to say i've seen jane fonda in the flesh, and a few of the swedish celebs. :D
