well, my struggle to find the courage to go have some proper dinner found quick success after i posted the entry last night. just a block away from this internetcafe was this really cute, small italian restaurant, and it was just empty enough to make me dare go in.

hey, i even did the full order in french, yey! mmm, food.

but the best came after - as i left the restaurant, i just started to wander aimlessly and stumbled upon this awesome garrishly lit up street.. turns out i'd found the latin quarter. it's an area filled with people and lights and restaurants and street vendors. it was really fun and warm to walk around.

...and.. i had... a crepe with nutella and banana! i could die just thinking about it. seriously. so good.

so. food crisis averted, i can now live on crepes, hehe. (i also found some really cute necklaces. yey, small-scale shopping!)

actually, i went to the seminar today (it was really fun - 11 people total from various european countries, and lots of "soft" training, which means lots of talking and no friggin' math! love it) and we're all going out to a proper french restaurant for dinner in a while.

i'm a bit spooked, but have already announced that the french speakers will have to help me order (because i don't really eat much meat. i can decipher simple dishes on a menue, but i don't want to accidentally order, y'know, a raw meat burger or something).

paris? so cool. i'm enjoying it to a ridiculous degree.

like, to an "i want to moooove here"-degree.

now if only the french people would stop asking ME for directions! haha! it's so funny to me. 4 separate people have stopped me and asked for directions, always ending with my apologetic headshake and "sorry.."

..i only wish i dared to use more french. i do try a few words and phrases here and there, i just don't quite understand the answers, making it kind of silly to ask something in the first place.

oh well.

i did manage to find a hairbrush to buy. i packed so well at home, only to find i'd forgotten the friggin' hairbrush. d'oh. thank goodness it's raining every now and then.

ok. off to take the metro to that restaurant we're going to. (loving the paris metro - it's really easy to navigate)

cin cin! hehe!

ohhh... the latin quarter. i loved the latin quarter. i miss it. i DID live on crepes while there!

i completely understand being afraid to speak french. there's a lot of things we didn't do in paris because i wasn't confident enough in my language skills.

i'm so glad you're having such a good time in Paris *and* enjoying the fabulous food. i love the Latin Quarter as well. there's so much variety of food to be had. i don't think we even had "French" food the last time we were there, but we had the best sushi and Indian food ever!

i wonder if we've been to the same creperie? the one we like is like a proper restaurant but they specialise in crepes and they're gorgeous! our favourite had coconut ice-cream, chocolate suace and coconut flakes. yummmm...

i always feel silly trying to speak in French when I'm there as they always answer me back in English anyway. i'm so obviously not one of them!

Never had the desire to go to paris...until now.

Glad you are having fun!!!
