i saw kelly clarkson last friday, by the way. she was really good. yey kelly. :)
i would say a third of the songs were kind of dull filler stuff, another third was well performed and rather pretty even though i didn't really know the songs, and yet another third of the songs were all the lovely hits (sans "a moment like this" since i guess she's moved all the way on from idol, and i also wish she would have covered annie lennox "why" because i've heard clips on youtube that sounded lovely, but oh well...).
i really enjoy her voice, and her personality comes off the same on stage as it does in whatever other clips i've seen her in on tv. sweet girl, big pipes. breakaway, because of you and since you've been gone made for enormously fun singalongs. duh. hehehe.
i wasn't very close to the stage, though, but eh, they'll do. she's adorable. she unfortunately seems to permanently look bigger in pictures than she does irl, and her clothes accentuated things in all the wrong ways, but.. eh, who cares. she seemed comfortable on stage. :)
and monday night, i went and saw moto boy and i'm still blown away. it was like seeing an amazing alien on stage. this skinny vampire-esque rockboy with lipstick and a rockstar guitar got on that stage and out came the strangest and most beautiful sounds. he used to sing in a boy's choir and has retained the ability to sing very high notes... it's really stunning to hear and see live. think jeff buckley range with even more of an opera edge. or a bit of old muse? i don't know. it was so cool. i've turned into quite the mini-fanatic.
i noticed he's playing may 23, 24 and 25 in london when i happen to be there, and i'm so contemplating ditching marp to go see motoboy on one of those dates (since marp will be at the sparks concerts all those nights), hahaha. maybe i can tempt redjanet and hubby to join? eh, it's always worth a shot. ;) anyway. check moto boy out. he's really cool. i'm not sure yet if his recorded tracks do him justice - go check him out on youtube? (i was amused to see that every now and then he'd fire off a really high note and let it glide in the air, and then as he'd finish the note, he'd do this little billy idol snarl face that totally didn't match the angelic note. haaa! funny.)
he also did live duets on stage with surprise guests titiyo and maja from the sounds, but i'm too tired to put pictures up of that, i'll add more att killtoknow later in the week instead..
