cinnamon buns with a twist:
i put cinnamon, butter, sugar, grated mint chocolate and grated almond paste in my buns, hehe. so good!
arrack licquor candy with chocolate and marzipan
first, bake a vanilla sponge cake. remove the outer layer with a knife so only the spongy goodness inside remains. crumble the sponge cake. pour loads of arrack liquor into it and knead into a dough. roll into balls and dip in chocolate, or go fancy like me and dye marzipan green and envelop the arrack dough in, then dip in chocolate. SO GOOD!
green marzipan arrack mini-cakes. in swedish, we call them "dammsugare" - vacuum cleaners, hahaha, cause they look like 60s hoovers, gettit?
traditional arrack chocolate balls (mom makes them every year, haha).
also, i made my own corn flake candy up: i grated a bunch of things (white chocolate with lemon zest, almonds, dried blueberries and cranberries. oh, and i grated a snickers-bar, heh heh) and mixed in a bowl. then i melted lots of chocolate. i poured a dot of chocolate into the paper thingies, then put slightly crushed corn flakes on top. then i poured a teaspoon of my grated stuff on top. then loads of melted chocolate. then half a teaspoon of yummie stuff on top. put in the freezer to cool.
SO GOOD! (you can also grate down almond paste and mint chocolate - also yummie!)
and that's that. we're trying to pack up now to go back to stockholm this afternoon.
upside to christmas? you get loads of presents, and give a bunch too!
downside? it's REALLY HARD TO PACK. especially since everything comes in boxes and we've also been randomly shopping for clothes and, uh, done some baking. but we WILL fit it all into our bags. somehow.
