Day 5 - Joan Osborne, Petaluma, California

Joan Osborne, Petaluma, USA

More photo's at killtoknow.org

We went to Petaluma (north of San Francisco) last night so I could finally see Joan Osborne in concert. She was loooovely . I just checked wikipedia - it says she's 48! I'm shocked. Although I suppose it makes sense - St. Teresa/One of Us came out on Relish in 1995! And it's taken until now for me to very randomly get to see her live.

Fantastic voice with that wail and that rasp. And she still has that... sexy-saucy saunter about her when performing. Really enjoyed it. At 33, I was almost the youngest in the venue, though, but it was all good. Loads of fans there and really fun, California-vibe and all with.

Roadtrip is going well - finally got to tour the magical Winchester Mystery House (soooo cool!) in San Jose this afternoon, then had dinner in Carmel-by-the-sea. Now we're staying at the lovely Best Western on the beach in Monterey. You can see pics and video of our visit at this hotel last year in this entry!

Tomorrow we head further down Highway 1. Hopefully we can squeeze in another visit to Hearst Castle in San Simeon, and then stay the night in Solvang, a really funny-looking replica of a Danish city. Google it.. :)

Cin cin!
